Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has praised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, saying she is personally leading relief efforts for flood victims with the care and compassion of “a mother and sister”.

In her statement, Bokhari said the Punjab government is actively reaching out to every flood-affected area. She noted that Maryam Nawaz has been visiting the hardest-hit regions herself to review relief operations, adding that whenever administrative shortcomings are identified, the Chief Minister immediately holds the responsible officials accountable.

She stressed that there will be no compromise on the facilities being provided to those affected by the floods.

According to her, for the past three weeks, district administrations, Civil Defence, Rescue 1122, Punjab Police, and other departments have been working tirelessly, while teams from the Pakistan Army and Rangers are also serving with a strong sense of national duty.

Criticising political opponents, Azma Bokhari said that some individuals are trying to exploit the plight of flood victims for political gains and spreading false propaganda on social media.

“The people know very well who stands with them in times of crisis and who only adds to their pain,” she added.
