OIC Summit: Deputy PM Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal hold key meeting with Turkish President

During the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, held an important meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

According to the Foreign Office, Ishaq Dar conveyed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s message of goodwill to the Turkish President and emphasised the importance of strengthening the comradely ties between Pakistan and Türkiye.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation, strongly condemned Israeli aggression, and expressed full support for Iran’s sovereignty and right to self-defence. They also agreed on pursuing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East.

The leaders stressed the urgent need to halt Israeli attacks on Gaza and ensure uninterrupted humanitarian aid for the besieged Palestinian population.

Deputy PM Dar also congratulated President Erdoğan on the successful hosting of the OIC summit and on receiving the OIC Youth Forum leadership award.
