Pakistan and India agree to ceasefire, announces U.S. President Trump

New York: U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that Pakistan and India have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire following intense overnight negotiations brokered by the United States.
In a post on the social media platform X, President Trump praised both nations for showing “wisdom and extraordinary restraint,” adding that the agreement would help prevent further conflict in the region.
Initially reluctant to intervene, the U.S. stepped in after Pakistan’s powerful retaliatory strikes inflicted significant damage on India, prompting urgent diplomatic efforts. Washington’s mediation ultimately led to the de-escalation and Pakistan’s agreement to a ceasefire.
