Pakistan, China sign MoUs in machinery, livestock and medical tech

Pakistan and China have signed multiple agreements aimed at expanding cooperation in key industrial and technological sectors, further strengthening their long-standing economic partnership.
The agreements were signed in Sanya during a ceremony attended by President Asif Ali Zardari, where two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and one joint venture agreement were formalised between Pakistani and Chinese entities. The deals cover construction machinery, animal vaccines, and advanced medical technology.
According to an official statement from the presidency, the MoUs are expected to enhance collaboration in infrastructure development, livestock health, and healthcare innovation. A documentary showcasing 75 years of Pakistan–China diplomatic relations was also screened at the event.
One of the agreements involves Al-Hassan Trade Establishment, Sany International Development, and Henan Jialong International Technology, focusing on the supply of construction machinery for China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)-related projects. The partnership also explores the possibility of establishing manufacturing facilities in Pakistan.
In the livestock sector, a joint venture was signed between the Livestock & Fisheries Department of Sindh and China’s Luoyang Modern Biology Group. The collaboration aims to improve animal health services and introduce modern biological solutions, including animal traceability systems.
In the healthcare sector, an MoU between Ziauddin Hospital and Shenzhen Weibang Technology will promote the use of artificial intelligence-based medical robots in clinical applications, marking a step toward advanced medical innovation in Pakistan.
Officials noted that this is the second round of MoU signings between Pakistan and China within a week, following earlier agreements in Changsha covering water desalination, agriculture, and tea industry cooperation.
The government reiterated that Pakistan places high importance on expanding industrial and technological cooperation with China as part of broader economic development goals.
