Pakistani security forces neutralized 23 militants in Kurram district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in a series of operations. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants were sponsored by India. The operations, based on credible intelligence, targeted militants involved in terrorist activities in the region. The operation resulted in the deaths of 12 militants in an exchange of fire.
In another intelligence-based operation in Kurram, security forces killed an additional 11 militants. The ISPR confirmed that these militants were responsible for planning and executing attacks with Indian backing. The targeted operations highlight the ongoing efforts by Pakistan’s security forces to dismantle terrorist networks operating in the region.
A sanitization operation is still underway in Kurram to locate and eliminate any remaining terrorists. The security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” framework. The operations will continue with full intensity, according to the ISPR’s statement.
These recent operations come after a similar success on November 18, when Pakistan’s forces killed 15 militants from the Fitna-al-Khawarij group in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Two separate intelligence-based operations in Kulachi and Datta Khel led to the elimination of these militants, including a key leader, Alam Mehsud.
The ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces are determined to continue their mission to eliminate terrorism. These efforts are critical to ensuring the safety and stability of the region.
