Pakistan Government Tightens Measures Against Fake Visas and Illegal Overseas Immigration

Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has decided to strengthen actions against individuals traveling abroad with fake documents, aiming to fully curb illegal immigration.
A meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain discussed enhancing the Protector issuance system and implementing reforms in the immigration process to facilitate travelers.
Federal ministers were instructed to present final recommendations within seven days, and a crackdown on elements involved in fake visa operations and agent mafias was ordered.
Interior Minister Naqvi stated that a pilot AI-based app is being launched to determine who is eligible to travel and who is not, ensuring better control over overseas movement.

He further emphasized a zero-tolerance policy against fake visas and agent mafias, stating that deported individuals will not be granted visas again, and a standardized International Driving License will be issued through the National Police Bureau.
The minister noted that some people undermine the country’s reputation abroad through illegal methods, and immigration reforms aim to provide public convenience and enhance Pakistan’s international image.
Minister for Overseas Pakistanis clarified that individuals traveling on labor visas must have authentic documentation, and the ministry will fully cooperate to improve both the Protector and immigration systems.
