Pakistan Railways to launch high-speed express train between Lahore and Karachi

Islamabad: Pakistan Railways is set to launch a new high-speed express train service between Lahore and Karachi, aimed at enhancing passenger comfort and convenience. The service, which is expected to begin operations by the end of January next year, will offer advanced amenities similar to the Green-Line Express currently operating between Islamabad and Karachi via Lahore.
A senior official from the Ministry of Railways revealed that the main objective of the new train service is to provide a modern and efficient travel experience for passengers. To achieve this, the ministry is working closely with various departments to finalise the preparations for the launch.
The new express train will be equipped with state-of-the-art features to ensure a smooth and pleasant journey. Pakistan Railways is also focused on boosting local production and reducing dependency on imports by employing innovative technologies to manufacture train coaches domestically. This move is expected to support the local economy and enhance the self-reliance of the railway sector.
In addition to improved travel speed and comfort, Pakistan Railways plans to prioritise hygiene and cleanliness during the journey. Efforts are being made to improve the quality of onboard meals and ensure a sanitary environment for passengers.
