Pakistan raises petrol and diesel prices sharply nationwide, increasing fuel costs for consumers. The government announced a major hike affecting daily transportation and goods movement. This decision has triggered concern among the public across the country.
According to official notification, petrol price increased by 26.77 rupees per liter. Similarly, diesel price also went up by 26.77 rupees per liter. Petroleum Division Pakistan issued the formal notification confirming the changes.
Under the new rates, petrol will cost 393.35 rupees per liter. In addition, diesel price has been set at 380.19 rupees per liter. The new prices will take effect from midnight today, as announced by authorities.

However, the government reduced the price of kerosene oil by 63.60 rupees per liter. As a result, its new price is set at 365.21 rupees per liter. Officials said this adjustment aims to balance overall energy pricing.
Meanwhile, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said global tensions have pushed oil prices higher. He added that Pakistan tried to absorb some of the cost burden.
