PM Shehbaz Sharif Arrives in Switzerland for Iran-US Talks

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Switzerland along with a high-level delegation to participate in the Iran-US talks being held in Bergunstock.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, technical-level negotiations will take place today in Switzerland as part of the continued implementation of a mutual understanding reached earlier in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir are also expected to participate in these discussions, highlighting Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement in the process.
The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that Shehbaz Sharif has reached Bergunstock with the delegation after departing from Islamabad for the summit.
A spokesperson for the Foreign Office stated that the Prime Minister will also hold bilateral meetings with participating delegations during the event. These meetings are expected to support effective implementation of the Iran-US understanding.
The spokesperson further emphasized that Pakistan will continue its cooperation in ensuring the successful implementation of the agreement, stressing Islamabad’s commitment to regional peace and stability.
Meanwhile, US representatives including Witkoff and Jared Kushner are already present in Switzerland, while US Vice President JD Vance has also arrived for the discussions.
On the Iranian side, the delegation led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has reached Switzerland. According to Iranian media, the delegation includes Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Ali Bagheri of the Supreme National Security Council, Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati, Kazem Gharibabadi, and Ismail Baghaei.
