A Lahore sessions court sentenced Ali Zain to 100 years in prison for murdering his mother, brother, and two sisters. The court delivered the verdict under the influence of the online game PUBG. Judge Riaz Ahmed handed down four life sentences and fined Ali Rs4 million. The punishment was reduced from the death penalty due to his young age. The case shocked the Kahna community and drew nationwide attention.

The tragic incident happened in January 2022 in Kahna, Lahore. Ali Zain, then 14 years old, opened fire on his family at 2 am. The victims included his mother Naheed Mubarak, 45, his brother Taimur Sultan, 20, and his sisters Mahnoor Fatima, 15, and Jannat, 10. Ali reportedly lost control after hours of playing PUBG and missing game targets. The police found all four family members dead in their home.

Police arrested Ali soon after the incident and began their investigation. At first, investigators doubted his involvement because of his confused behavior. However, evidence and Ali’s confession confirmed his guilt. Police revealed Ali used his mother’s pistol to shoot the family. He even tried to cover his tracks by throwing the pistol into a drain. The police completed a thorough investigation before officially charging him.

During the trial, prosecutor Habibur Rehman presented eyewitnesses and strong evidence. The judge ruled that Ali’s crime was extremely serious and deserving of harsh punishment. However, the court spared him the death sentence because of his age. Instead, Ali received four life terms totaling 100 years. In addition, the court imposed a Rs4 million fine to cover damages.

This case raises questions about the effects of violent video games on young minds. Authorities and society continue to discuss ways to protect children from harmful influences. Meanwhile, Ali Zain remains in prison, serving a severe sentence for his horrific actions. The tragedy remains a grim reminder of how quickly violence can destroy families.
