Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said the public rejected PTI’s protest call on Sunday. She said people ignored calls for chaos and refused violence. She shared these views while speaking to the media in Lahore.
Meanwhile, she praised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for reconnecting youth with culture. She said government policies encouraged festivals, heritage, and public participation. As a result, young people showed renewed interest in cultural traditions.
Moreover, Aurangzeb credited Maryam Nawaz for ensuring the success of the Basant Festival. She said people traveled to Lahore from Karachi and other cities. Therefore, the festival drew large crowds from across the country.

Additionally, she said the Punjab government organized Basant with support from all institutions. She noted that Maryam Nawaz took difficult decisions to ensure public safety. According to her, authorities installed safety rods on 1.4 million motorcycles.
Furthermore, the government provided free transport during the Basant Festival. She said more than two million people used the free travel service. In conclusion, officials described the festival as peaceful, inclusive, and well managed.
