A high-level meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif reviewed ongoing and proposed road infrastructure projects across the province and approved several major development schemes aimed at improving connectivity and transport facilities.

During the meeting, officials were directed to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of the Multan–Vehari Road project, which was described as the province’s first “dust-free road.” Authorities briefed the chief minister that the road’s base and sub-base work has been completed, while asphalt paving is progressing rapidly.

The meeting also approved the SL-IV Lahore Ring Road project, along with in-principle approval of different phases of the Sialkot Ring Road. Under the plan, the ring road will connect Wazirabad Road to the Sialkot–Pasrur Road, improving regional mobility and trade access.

In addition, a proposed Thal Expressway project was presented, aimed at linking Bhakkar, Layyah, and surrounding regions with the M-4 motorway to enhance inter-district connectivity and economic activity. A briefing on the Rawalpindi signal-free corridor project highlighted plans for the construction of seven underpasses and one overhead bridge to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the city.
