Punjab CM announces cardiac labs in every district

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced a landmark initiative to establish cardiac catheterisation labs in all districts of Punjab.
Under her directives, state-of-the-art cath labs will soon become operational in Jhang, Mianwali, and Vehari at district headquarters hospitals. This move is unprecedented in Punjab’s healthcare history.
In the second phase, labs will be activated in Bhakkar, Chakwal, Hafizabad, Khanewal, Mandi Bahauddin, Rajanpur, and Toba Tek Singh. The goal is equal access to advanced cardiac care.
Each lab will provide angiography, angioplasty, and primary PCI services. CM Maryam said timely treatment can prevent heart disease complications and save lives.

The initiative will reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for heart emergencies. The chief minister aims for nine-minute access to district labs.
Specialist cardiac doctors will be appointed at each DHQ hospital, with approved pay packages to attract and retain skilled professionals. Hospitals will follow international SOPs.
CM Maryam reaffirmed her commitment to quality healthcare for all citizens, ensuring life-saving cardiac treatment is accessible at every district level in Punjab.
