Punjab was the most affected by the recent floods in Pakistan, according to official documents. Out of the total estimated damage of Rs. 822 billion across the country, Rs. 631 billion losses were recorded in Punjab alone. This amount makes up 76.8% of the total flood damage.

The report also shared figures for other regions. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa suffered Rs. 51.3 billion in losses, which is 6.2% of the total. Sindh faced Rs. 32.2 billion in damages, while Gilgit-Baltistan saw losses of Rs. 13 billion.

Azad Kashmir experienced Rs. 9.3 billion in damage, and Balochistan suffered the least, with Rs. 7 billion in losses. Although their share is smaller, these regions were still seriously impacted.

The report further mentioned that other sectors faced an additional loss of Rs. 78 billion. In total, Pakistan suffered an early estimated damage of $2.9 billion due to the floods.
