Raghib Naeemi addresses the 240th meeting of the Islamic Ideology Council

Islamabad: The 240th meeting of the Islamic Ideology Council was held today, with all members agreeing on the declaration issued at the conclusion of the session. The council discussed various topics, including previous recommendations and guidelines for the use of social media in accordance with Islamic teachings.

Raghib Naeemi, a prominent member of the council, emphasised the significance of social media as an effective tool for expressing opinions. He stated that social media should be used in line with Islamic principles to ensure it serves constructive purposes for society.

The council also emphasised the importance of using social media for the peace and stability of the country, warning against its misuse for unethical purposes. It was clearly stated that social media should not be used for harmful or immoral goals.

In addition, the meeting touched on the use of virtual private networks (VPNs) while browsing the internet. The council affirmed that using VPNs for legitimate purposes is not prohibited; however, the use of VPNs for unlawful or unethical purposes is considered impermissible under Islamic law.

The meeting concluded with a call for the responsible and ethical use of social media and technology to contribute positively to society and uphold moral values.
