Rain brings pleasant weather across Lahore and several cities

Lahore and several other parts of Pakistan experienced light to heavy rainfall on Monday, bringing relief from warm weather and turning conditions pleasant across multiple regions.
In Lahore, different areas witnessed varying intensities of rain, from light showers to heavy downpours. The rain improved weather conditions and provided relief to residents after days of warm and dry weather.
Alongside Lahore, rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning was also reported in several cities including North Waziristan, Gujrat, Lodhran, Vehari, Burewala, Rahim Yar Khan, and Rajanpur. The widespread weather system affected both urban and rural areas across Punjab and surrounding regions.
In Jahanian, three people were injured when a wall collapsed during rainfall. Meanwhile, in Qambar Shahdadkot, Sukkur, and Shikarpur, heavy rain caused water accumulation in low-lying areas, leading to difficulties for residents. In Ghotki and Ubauro, strong winds were followed by light rain, further contributing to unstable weather conditions.
The Meteorological Department has forecast that most parts of the country will remain hot and dry today. However, isolated rain is expected in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir, where cloud development may trigger scattered showers.
Officials have advised citizens to remain cautious during severe weather conditions, especially in areas prone to flooding or structural damage. Authorities are also monitoring the situation in regions where heavy rainfall has already caused disruptions.
The recent spell of rain is expected to provide temporary relief in temperature but may continue to cause challenges in low-lying and vulnerable areas.
