Russia Withdraws More Staff From Iran Nuclear Plant Amid Tensions

Russia has decided to withdraw more staff from Iran’s only operational nuclear plant despite the ceasefire. The move comes as concerns remain over regional stability. As a result, attention has returned to the safety situation at the facility.

The head of Russia’s state nuclear corporation confirmed the decision regarding the Bushehr nuclear plant. He stated that the evacuation plan will not be reversed. Moreover, he said that conditions have improved slightly but remain uncertain.

He further explained that although the ceasefire has reduced tensions, it is still not safe to send staff back. Therefore, Russia will continue to keep its personnel away from the site for the time being. The decision reflects ongoing caution.

According to Arab media, the Bushehr plant is Iran’s only operational nuclear facility. It was built with Russian assistance and still hosts Russian technical teams. Previously, Russia had already withdrawn 611 employees through Armenia due to security concerns.
