Peshawar, January 8, 2025: Pakistan’s security forces conducted a series of successful operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on January 6th and 7th, leading to the neutralization of 19 militants. However, during the operations, three soldiers of the Pakistani Army embraced martyrdom while engaging in an exchange of gunfire with militants, as confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The operations were carried out across three key regions in the province, following intelligence reports indicating the presence of militants. In the first operation, security forces targeted militant hideouts in the Matni area of Peshawar. The operation resulted in the death of eight militants. According to the ISPR, the security forces successfully eliminated the militant presence in the area, significantly weakening their network.

Another operation took place in the Bazi area of Mohmand District, where security forces, acting on actionable intelligence, confronted militants in an intense firefight. This operation also proved successful, with eight militants killed.

In the third operation, the security forces continued their offensive, targeting other militant strongholds, which contributed to the total of 19 militants eliminated.

The operations, while successful in neutralising the militants, came at a heavy cost, as three brave soldiers of the Pakistani Army laid down their lives in the line of duty. The ISPR confirmed that these soldiers were martyred during the exchange of gunfire with the militants.

The Pakistan Army has expressed its resolve to continue its operations against terrorism and militant activities across the country, ensuring the safety and security of the citizens. In a statement, the Army praised the sacrifices of the martyrs and reiterated its commitment to eradicating terrorism in all its forms.
