Shadab Khan Ruled Out of Bangladesh T20I Series

Lahore – Pakistan’s experienced leg-spinner and all-rounder Shadab Khan has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh due to a persistent shoulder injury, sources confirmed on Monday.

According to team insiders, Shadab is experiencing ongoing shoulder pain, and there are concerns that he may require surgery, ruling him out of selection for the near future.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has yet to officially announce the squad for the Bangladesh series. However, sources suggest that newly appointed captain Salman Ali Agha and head coach Mike Hesson are looking to prioritise younger talent in the upcoming matches.

Preparations for the Bangladesh tour will begin with a training camp in Karachi from July 7, while head coach Hesson is expected to arrive in Pakistan on July 6.

The national team will depart for Dhaka on July 16, with T20 matches scheduled for July 20, 22, and 24.

Following the Bangladesh tour, Pakistan are set to travel to the United States, where they will play three T20 matches, followed by a series of ODI games. Meanwhile, the PCB has formally requested the West Indies Cricket Board to convert the scheduled ODIs into T20 Internationals, in line with Pakistan’s focus on preparing for the next T20 World Cup cycle.
