A three-year-old girl died after falling into a nullah in Hyderabad on Sunday. The incident occurred in the Meher Colony area, officials confirmed. The tragedy shocked residents and raised serious safety concerns.
According to rescue officials, the girl fell from a temporary wooden walkway. The walkway was built over an open nullah for local use. However, it did not have proper safety support.
Meanwhile, a local resident noticed the child and acted quickly. He pulled her out of the nullah on a self-help basis. The rescue happened before emergency teams arrived.
Later, family members rushed the girl to a nearby hospital. Doctors admitted her in critical condition for urgent treatment. Sadly, she died during treatment despite medical efforts.
Authorities identified the deceased as three-year-old Aliza. Therefore, residents demanded safer walkways and better infrastructure. Officials said they would review safety around open nullahs.
