Trump Says Putin is Serious About Ending Ukraine War

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin appears “deeply committed” to ending the ongoing war in Ukraine. According to Trump, Moscow is now showing a serious willingness to move toward peace.

Speaking to reporters in Florida ahead of his scheduled meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump revealed that he held an extensive phone conversation with President Putin that lasted nearly 75 minutes.

Trump said the detailed discussion strengthened his belief that Russia is ready to pursue a negotiated settlement. He noted that Moscow’s tone and approach indicate readiness for meaningful progress.

The U.S. President further said that both Ukraine and Russia want the conflict to end, and the peace talks have now entered what he described as a “final phase,” with negotiations moving forward rapidly.

Trump added that after meeting President Zelensky, he plans to speak with Putin again to help push the process toward a concrete outcome and ensure stability in the region.

A previous meeting between Trump and Zelensky took place in October, where both leaders discussed potential frameworks for a future peace agreement. At that time, Trump clarified that no strict deadline had been set.

According to Trump, the proposed peace deal would not only bring stability to Eastern Europe but also open new economic opportunities for Ukraine, contributing to the country’s long-term recovery.
