UAE Launches Digital Degree Verification Service for Private Sector Employees

The United Arab Emirates has taken a major step to simplify the employment process for private sector workers by introducing a new digital service for verifying educational qualifications.

According to Arab media reports, the service is primarily aimed at foreign workers who possess academic degrees issued outside the UAE. However, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has stated that the service will soon be extended to degrees obtained within the country.

The goal of this initiative is to make the hiring process more efficient, transparent, and secure. With this digital solution, both government and private sector institutions will be able to verify educational documents electronically, reducing paperwork and processing time.

The new system will be accessible via the MoHRE website, smartphone application, and authorised business service centres across the UAE.

Verification of educational documents is mandatory for employment in the UAE. Traditionally, foreign employees must have their degrees verified in their home country and then again within the UAE. This process can take 10 days or more. If degrees are already attested in the country of origin, the UAE verification typically takes about two days.

With this digital verification system, the entire process will become faster, easier, and more reliable. It will also help combat document fraud and strengthen the country’s regulatory framework for employment.
