Director General ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has warned that any violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty will be met with a ruthless response.
In an interview with Sky News following Pakistan’s decisive victory in Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, he said that despite India’s larger military, Pakistan delivered a historic blow to New Delhi.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan will strongly retaliate against any ceasefire violations by India, stressing that both nations are nuclear powers and any escalation could lead to catastrophic consequences.
“India must understand that any aggression against Pakistan will destabilise the entire region,” he stated.
Lt. Gen. Chaudhry also criticised India’s attempts to portray Kashmir as an internal matter, calling it a globally recognised dispute. He added that countries like the U.S. are well aware of India’s nuclear ambitions.
He emphasised the need to resolve the Kashmir issue according to UN Security Council resolutions and said, “The real test for the U.S. is how much pressure it is willing to exert on India.”
