Ishaq Dar meets Putin, agrees to boost regional cooperation

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, where both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral and regional cooperation. During this important diplomatic interaction, Ishaq Dar meeting Putin highlighted Pakistan’s aim to build stronger ties with Russia.
According to the Foreign Office, leaders of the SCO member states were also present during the meeting. The discussions focused on improving cooperation in different regional areas, including economic and strategic partnerships.

Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed all leaders and stated that Russia wants to further strengthen economic cooperation in the region. He emphasized that regional connectivity and collaboration are key for long-term development.
Earlier, Ishaq Dar addressed the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting and said that the organization has the capability to play an effective role in dealing with emergencies and improving humanitarian cooperation among member states.

He added that Pakistan has developed a technology-based and active disaster management system, and is ready to hold joint exercises with SCO partners to further improve regional preparedness.
