Ukraine-Russia War

Pakistan has expressed deep concerns over the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war, highlighting its severe humanitarian and global impact. Speaking at the United Nations, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative Asim Iftikhar urged both sides to pursue dialogue and diplomacy to end the bloodshed. He stressed the war’s profound consequences on regional and international stability, particularly the suffering of civilians.

Iftikhar condemned the targeting of civilian infrastructure, calling it a violation of international law. He emphasized that such acts worsen the humanitarian crisis and impede efforts toward peace. The destruction of homes, hospitals, and essential services has made it increasingly difficult to resolve the conflict.

The Pakistani envoy appealed to both Ukraine and Russia to show patience and restraint. He urged the parties to reduce tensions and work towards a diplomatic solution. Iftikhar noted that earlier momentum for negotiations could have led to a meaningful resolution, had the process been pursued more seriously.

Pakistan reaffirmed its stance that no military solution exists for the Ukraine-Russia conflict. Iftikhar stressed that only diplomacy could provide a lasting peace, emphasizing that both sides must negotiate a mutually acceptable resolution. He reiterated that Pakistan supports all efforts aimed at a peaceful settlement.

In conclusion, Asim Iftikhar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to conflict resolution through dialogue. He called for renewed negotiations to achieve a peaceful and lasting resolution to the war. Pakistan believes that diplomacy is the only path to end the violence and bring stability to the region.
