PTI Sit-In Outside Adiala Jail

Police ended the PTI sit-in at Factory Naka near Adiala Jail late Tuesday night. Officers used water cannons to disperse protesters. PTI workers responded by throwing stones at police. Several workers were detained during the clash, according to eyewitnesses. The tense standoff disrupted traffic and drew heavy public attention.

Earlier, police stopped PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and the sisters of the PTI founder from visiting Imran Khan. This action prompted Aleema Khan to lead a sit-in with party workers. Despite police barricades, many PTI supporters gathered at the checkpoint. They chanted slogans against the government and demanded access to their leader. The crowd grew as news of the blockade spread.

While addressing supporters, Aleema urged everyone to stay peaceful. She reminded them that police officers were “our brothers” acting under pressure. She said the police reaction increased because women were present in the protest. Aleema also criticized authorities for denying family meetings with Imran Khan. She called the long delay in visits a form of mental torture.

Aleema questioned why her brother was treated as a national security threat. She demanded clarity on his alleged solitary confinement. She also sought answers on who ordered the harsh restrictions. During talks, PTI leaders asked police to return all seized vehicles. Police returned five vehicles but confirmed that fourteen had been taken earlier.

Meanwhile, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar commented on the situation. He said no meeting with the PTI founder was possible after a legal violation. He insisted that the ban on visits was lawful and not based on personal wishes. Police continued negotiations with PTI representatives after clearing the protest. Further updates are expected as discussions progress.

The government is considering the possibility of a treason case against Imran Khan, according to Adviser to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah. He stated that recent events, including controversial statements by Khan’s family and social media posts, were under investigation. The government is also looking into the statement issued by the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR). Sanaullah did not rule out the possibility of legal action, but emphasized that the matter is still under review.

Sanaullah claimed that prior to a recent meeting in Adiala, an agreement had been made not to issue any political statements. Despite this, Imran Khan posted a controversial statement shortly after. He explained that the DG ISPR’s press conference was not coordinated with the government and they were unaware of its contents. Sanaullah also revealed that intelligence agencies had been monitoring PTI’s activities, especially after the Jaffer Express incident. He pointed out that media outlets aligned with India, Afghanistan, and PTI seemed to push similar anti-Pakistan narratives.
