Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts played a significant role in easing tensions between global powers and helping prevent what he described as a potential large-scale conflict in the region.

Speaking to reporters at the Parliament House, Rana Sanaullah praised the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying their coordinated efforts contributed to regional stability and improved international engagement, particularly in connection with Iran–US diplomatic developments.

He said Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue and encouraging diplomatic channels helped create an environment of de-escalation, which, according to him, reduced the risk of wider instability. “The efforts made by the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal go beyond recognition like the Nobel Peace Prize,” he remarked, adding that such achievements should be viewed in terms of their global impact.

Responding to a question regarding whether Pakistan deserved consideration for the Nobel Peace Prize, Rana Sanaullah said the decision rests entirely with the Nobel Committee. However, he reiterated that Pakistan’s contribution to peace efforts had been “above and beyond conventional recognition.”

He added that improved regional conditions could also benefit economic cooperation, including potential progress on energy projects. Referring to the Iran–Pakistan gas pipeline, he said easing sanctions and improved diplomatic relations could help revive long-stalled energy initiatives and potentially reduce pressure on fuel prices in the future.

Rana Sanaullah also spoke about domestic political matters, including upcoming elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, assuring that the federal government would fully support free and fair electoral processes. He stressed that political issues should be resolved through dialogue, saying negotiations remain the most effective way to address national challenges.

He further dismissed speculation about changes in the federal cabinet, saying no official decision regarding expansion or reshuffling had been made by the Prime Minister.
