Shipping Resumes After US-Iran Ceasefire

Following a ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, maritime traffic has resumed through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, signaling a positive development for global trade.

According to maritime monitoring service MarineTraffic, at least two vessels have passed through the strait after the ceasefire, including ships registered in Greece and Liberia.

Experts say the Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical oil transit routes, and the resumption of shipping activity could help stabilize global markets.

Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance, speaking at an event in Budapest, described recent developments with Iran as encouraging.

He stated that the US and its allies have agreed to halt attacks on Iran, while Tehran has also agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Vance added that President Donald Trump remains committed to pursuing a peaceful resolution and is actively working on diplomatic efforts.

He further noted that reactions within Iran to the ceasefire are mixed, but the US leadership is engaging in negotiations in good faith to ensure regional stability.
