A report has highlighted concerns regarding alleged involvement of some Afghan nationals in criminal activities across certain host countries, raising questions about security and border management policies.

According to Afghanistan International, cited in the report, some Afghan citizens have been linked to serious offences including drug trafficking, terrorism-related activities, sexual crimes, and illegal gambling operations in different countries. The report claims these incidents have created challenges for law enforcement agencies in host states.

The publication further states that in countries such as Tajikistan, Afghan nationals have been identified in a number of drug smuggling and security-related cases. It cites figures suggesting that hundreds of individuals have been detained or investigated in connection with narcotics trafficking and several dozen in terrorism-related cases. However, these figures have not been independently verified in the report.

The same reporting also references actions taken by other countries, including deportations and arrests of individuals allegedly involved in illegal stay or criminal activities. Poland is among the countries mentioned as having detained undocumented Afghan nationals in recent enforcement operations.

Authorities in affected countries have previously stated that such measures are part of routine immigration enforcement and counter-crime operations aimed at maintaining law and order. They have also emphasised that actions are taken based on individual cases and evidence, rather than nationality.

The report notes that rising concerns over cross-border crime, migration flows, and security screening have led several states to review their visa and monitoring systems. Analysts say these developments reflect broader global debates about migration management and internal security rather than targeting any specific nationality as a whole.

The issue continues to remain sensitive, with differing perspectives on the scale, causes, and policy responses to transnational crime and migration-related challenges.
