Army Chief takes responsibility for treatment of children evacuated from India

In a remarkable act of compassion, General Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, has taken full responsibility for the medical care of two Pakistani children, Abdullah (9) and Mansa (7), who were deported from India just a day before their scheduled heart surgeries.

The siblings had travelled to Faridabad, India, with their father, Shahid Ahmed, from Hyderabad, Sindh, after a 7-year struggle to secure visas for life-saving procedures. However, despite the final approval, Indian authorities forced them to leave, citing rising tensions following the Pahalgam incident.

Shahid Ahmed condemned India’s actions, calling them “inhumane and political.”

General Asim Munir quickly responded, arranging for the children to receive immediate treatment at the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) in Rawalpindi. The children are now receiving advanced medical care, ensuring they get the treatment they desperately need.

On the 365News Morning Show “Rise and Shine,” the family was invited to share their emotional journey after being deported from India just before their life-saving heart surgeries. Nadia Khan and Zohaib Hassan made a special message for the family, praising their courage and expressing support, which quickly went viral on social media.
