Police in Qila Saifullah have arrested the alleged ringleader of a criminal group involved in a major gold robbery worth around 100 million rupees, officials confirmed. The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in a case that had remained unsolved for nearly a year and a half.

According to police, the suspect was involved in a highway robbery targeting a passenger coach traveling from Punjab to Quetta. The vehicle was carrying two jewelers who were transporting gold and jewellery orders intended for local markets in Quetta.

Investigators said the gang intercepted the coach on the route, forcibly stopped it, and looted a large quantity of gold and valuables. The incident triggered a large-scale investigation across multiple districts, but the suspects had managed to evade arrest until now.

Authorities stated that the arrested individual played a key role in planning and executing the robbery, while other members of the group were involved in carrying out the attack and escaping with the stolen goods. Police have launched further operations to track down the remaining suspects and recover the stolen gold.

Officials added that the case involved coordinated criminal activity, suggesting a well-organized network operating in the region. Security forces are now working to dismantle the broader group and prevent similar incidents on key transport routes.

The arrest is being seen as an important step toward improving highway security in Balochistan, where commercial transport routes have previously been targeted by armed criminal groups. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have pledged to bring all those involved to justice.
