Clashes intensify as deaths reported in Israel-Lebanon fighting

Jerusalem saw a lot of tension on Tuesday. The Israel Defense Forces said that four of its soldiers were killed in a fight in Lebanon. They are still having problems with Hezbollah there.

The Israeli military said that three of the soldiers were from the group. A fourth soldier also died,. They have not said who it was yet. The Israel Defense Forces also said that another soldier was badly hurt and a reservist was moderately injured during the fight.

Things got even worse when Israel said that missiles were coming from Iran. The air defense systems were turned on. Sirens were heard all over Jerusalem. There were explosions too.. The military said that they stopped the missiles and it was safe for people to leave the protected areas.

At the time the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon said that two Indonesian peacekeepers were killed when their vehicle was hit by an explosion in southern Lebanon. Two other peacekeepers were hurt, one badly. This happened a day after another peacekeeper was killed in an explosion near a United Nations position.

The army of Lebanon also said that an Israeli strike killed one of its soldiers. Security sources said that three Hezbollah members died in an airstrike on the suburbs of Beirut.

A lot of countries are worried about what’s happening. Jean-Pierre Lacroix said that the attacks on peacekeepers were wrong and that the violence should stop. France wants the United Nations Security Council to meet. Spain also does not like what is happening.

While there is still a lot of fighting Joseph Aoun wants people to try to make peace and stop the fighting. The tension, in the region is getting worse.
