ISLAMABAD – A local court on Saturday canceled the arrest warrant of Ali Amin Gandapur in the audio leak case. The District and Sessions Court ended proceedings that had declared him a proclaimed offender. Additional District and Sessions Judge Nasr Minallah Baloch conducted the hearing. Gandapur appeared in court with his lawyer Raja Zahoor-ul-Hassan. Co-accused Asad Farooq Khan also attended the proceedings.
During the hearing, the court formally charged both Gandapur and Khan in the case. The judge noted that Gandapur had repeatedly failed to appear earlier. In response, Gandapur cited security concerns, curfews, and road blockages. He said these issues prevented him from attending previous hearings. The court listened to his explanation before moving forward.
Gandapur told the court that he discussed license-related matters during the alleged call. He also stated that authorities seized his mobile phone during raids. Meanwhile, Judge Baloch observed that prosecution claims alone cannot secure a conviction. He added that the court had delayed framing charges for a long time. Therefore, the judge stressed the need to proceed properly under the law.

Gandapur’s lawyer requested the cancellation of the arrest warrant after his client appeared. He argued that the court holds the authority to revoke such warrants. The judge accepted the request and canceled the arrest warrant. However, the court instructed Gandapur to attend future hearings regularly. The judge also urged him to remain cautious and cooperative.
Furthermore, the court advised filing a formal exemption request if attendance becomes impossible. This would help avoid further legal complications in the case. Finally, the judge adjourned the hearing until April 6, 2026. The case will now proceed under regular court supervision. Authorities expect both accused to comply with court directives moving forward.
