Dar, Iranian FM Discuss Regional Tensions and Diplomacy

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a phone call with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. They discussed the prevailing situation in Iran amid rising regional tensions. The conversation focused on recent political and security developments.
During the call, both leaders exchanged views on regional challenges. They emphasized the importance of continued dialogue. They also agreed to stay in close and regular contact.
Furthermore, both ministers reaffirmed strong Pakistan-Iran relations. They expressed commitment to strengthening diplomatic cooperation. Bilateral engagement through communication was highlighted as essential.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry shared details on US contacts. Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said communication channels remain open. He confirmed that messages are exchanged when needed.

Baghaei stated that Abbas Araghchi remains in contact with US representative Steve Witkoff. He added that Switzerland is also used as a mediation channel. These efforts help maintain communication between Tehran and Washington.
According to Baghaei, the United States has shared views and raised issues. He said Iran has never withdrawn from negotiations. Iran continues to support dialogue despite ongoing difficulties.
However, Baghaei criticized contradictory US statements. He said such remarks show a lack of seriousness. Still, Iran remains committed to talks amid challenging circumstances.
