Eid-ul-Fitr

Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with immense devotion and joy today (Sunday) in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and several other nations. The occasion marked the end of the holy month of Ramadan, with millions of Muslims across the world coming together for special prayers and celebrations.

In Saudi Arabia, large-scale Eid congregations took place at the two most revered mosques in Islam: Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina. Imam Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais led the Eid sermon and prayers at Masjid al-Haram, while Imam Sheikh Abdullah conducted the prayers at Masjid an-Nabawi (P.B.U.H). These prayers were attended by millions of worshippers who gathered to mark the festive occasion in the presence of the sacred landmarks.

Saudi King Salman extended his heartfelt Eid greetings to the global Muslim community, thanking Allah for the privilege of serving millions of Umrah pilgrims during Ramadan. The King also expressed his gratitude for the dedicated efforts of those involved in providing services to the pilgrims.

In the UAE, Eid prayers were held in various locations, including Dubai, where over 15,000 people, including women and children, attended the congregation in the Al-Qusais area. Similar large gatherings took place in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and other emirates. The UAE government and religious leaders emphasised unity, peace, and compassion during the festivities.

Beyond the Gulf, Eid prayers were also performed in countries such as Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Turkey, and Russia, where Muslim communities came together to mark the end of Ramadan with collective prayers and celebrations.
