European Investment Bank Provides 20 Billion Rupees For Karachi Sewage

The European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide 60 million euros (approximately PKR 20 billion) to improve sewage and wastewater treatment in Karachi, Pakistan. This funding aims to enhance water sanitation in the city and is a major step toward better urban water management, highlighting the Karachi sewage water treatment funding initiative.

The initial agreement was signed during the 15th Pakistan-EU Joint Commission meeting held in Brussels, the capital of the European Union. The signing took place on the sidelines of the event, formalizing the collaboration between Pakistan and the European Investment Bank.

According to the statement, the funds will be used to restore and build key wastewater treatment centers in Karachi. The project aims to modernize infrastructure, improve efficiency, and address the growing challenges of urban wastewater management in the city.
