Gas pipeline blast disrupts supply in Quetta

Quetta had a problem with gas on Monday night. Some armed men blew up a gas pipeline in the Western Bypass area. This caused a lot of trouble for people in the city.

The gas company, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) said that the pipeline that was damaged was 18 inches wide. It was blown up in the Akhtarabad area. The men put explosives under the pipeline. It caused a big blast. The blast made a hole in the pipeline and started a fire.

The police said that the blast happened in the evening. This meant that gas could not be supplied to parts of Quetta and nearby areas. The blast was so strong that it destroyed a part of the pipeline. This made it hard to fix.

Balochistan CM Demands Immediate Action on Gas Shortage

The SSGC said that many areas did not have gas. These areas included Hazara Town, Hazarganji Khaizi, Nohsar, Kuchlak and other nearby areas. The districts of Pishin, Ziarat, Kalat and Mastung also did not have gas. People in these areas had trouble because they could not use gas for their homes or businesses.

The SSGC sent teams to fix the pipeline.. They cannot start fixing it yet. They need to make sure it is safe for the workers.

The security forces were deployed to protect the gas installations in Quetta. This was done to prevent attacks.

No one has said that they did the blast. The authorities are trying to find out who did it.

The security agencies are, on alert. They are worried that more sabotage might happen in Balochistan.
