Governor Kundi Warns of Governor’s Rule in KP

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has issued a stern warning to the provincial government regarding its lack of cooperation with the federal government. Speaking at a ceremony at the Governor House in Peshawar on Monday, Kundi said that if the provincial government fails to cooperate, the imposition of governor’s rule will be inevitable.

Kundi emphasized that the Constitution allows for governor’s rule in such cases. He further warned that if the PTI-led provincial government continues to create obstacles and refuse cooperation, the federal government would be forced to take strict actions. “Governor’s rule will be enforced if cooperation does not improve,” he stated.

The governor also made it clear that it is now the people, not protests, who will decide the future. “A stubborn attitude will not be tolerated,” he said, adding that any attempts to disrupt governance, like the Islamabad march, would be dealt with firmly. Kundi assured that there would be no tolerance for political unrest this time.

In a sharp criticism of PTI, Kundi also addressed statements made by party leaders, saying the one who vowed to cut off fuel supplies to the Governor House has failed to act on that promise. He questioned the PTI’s stance on leadership, especially regarding the convicted PTI founder, asserting that a convicted individual must serve their sentence.

Kundi wrapped up his address by reiterating that the courts will decide the fate of PTI’s leadership, not political rallies. He concluded by urging the KP government to focus on collaboration for the betterment of the province and the country.
