Iran has announced that it is ending visa-free entry for Indian citizens, a major change that affects travelers from India. This update in the Iran visa policy for Indians comes after new concerns were raised about the safety of Indian nationals visiting Iran.

According to Indian media, Iran has stopped the one-way visa-free entry that was previously available to Indian passport holders. This change marks an important shift in the travel rules between the two countries.

Reports say that Iran took this step after several incidents were found where Indian citizens were invited to Iran with false job offers or promises of being taken to other countries illegally. Many of these people were kidnapped, and ransom was demanded from their families.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs stated that after receiving such complaints, the Iranian government decided to suspend the visa-free facility for Indian travelers starting from 22 November. The decision aims to stop criminal groups from misusing this system.

From 22 November onward, all Indian citizens with ordinary passports must obtain a visa before entering Iran or even passing through it while traveling to a third country. This updated rule strengthens the Iran visa policy for Indians and aims to ensure better safety for travelers.
