Iran Says Progress Made in US Talks but Key Issues Blocked Deal

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that progress was made during the latest round of US Iran Talks, but a final agreement could not be reached due to a few critical disagreements.

Speaking in Tehran, Baghaei said that both sides came close to consensus on several issues, but two or three key matters ultimately prevented a deal.

He described the مذاکرات as the longest round of discussions held between Iran and the United States in the past year, lasting approximately 24 to 25 hours.

According to Baghaei, while partial agreements were achieved, differences in viewpoints remained on several other important topics, which hindered a comprehensive settlement.

He emphasized that diplomacy is an ongoing process and should not be expected to deliver complete results in a single meeting, noting that such expectations were unrealistic.

Baghaei added that Iran will continue engaging with regional partners, including Pakistan, to maintain diplomatic coordination and stability.

He also expressed appreciation for the government and people of Pakistan, as well as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, for their support and role in facilitating dialogue.
