Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan held nationwide protests on Tuesday to mark the second anniversary of Hamas’ Al-Aqsa Flood operation. Thousands gathered in cities across Pakistan, including Karachi, to show support for Palestinians. Protesters condemned Israeli strikes that killed over 67,000 Palestinians and displaced millions in Gaza. The demonstrations called for an immediate ceasefire and an end to Gaza’s humanitarian crisis. Participants included students, lawyers, traders, and civil society activists.

Protesters chanted slogans against Israel and the United States, accusing them of fueling the conflict. They demanded the international community take action to stop the violence. The rallies showed strong public solidarity with the Palestinian people. They also criticized the ongoing military campaign and its devastating impact. The nationwide turnout reflected widespread concern over the situation in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed the release of former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed from Israeli custody. Mushtaq was detained while trying to break the Gaza blockade with the Sumud Flotilla mission. Israeli naval forces had taken him into custody in the red zone near Gaza. Dar said Mushtaq is now at the Pakistani Embassy in Jordan and is in good health and spirits. The embassy is assisting him for a safe return to Pakistan.

Ishaq Dar expressed gratitude to friendly countries that helped secure Mushtaq Ahmed’s release. He thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their efforts and coordination. The deputy prime minister shared the news on social media to assure the public. This development brings relief to Pakistanis concerned about Mushtaq’s detention. It also highlights Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to protect its citizens abroad.

As protests continue, public pressure grows for an end to violence in Gaza. Pakistan’s government faces calls to play a stronger role in international peace efforts. Meanwhile, the release of Mushtaq Ahmed symbolizes hope for humanitarian action. The situation remains tense, with many awaiting further diplomatic moves. Pakistanis remain united in their support for the Palestinian cause and call for peace.
