Unregistered Dumper Operating

Karachi traffic police seized an unregistered dumper truck that had been operating without documents for the past three years. The truck, found in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 9, lacked a number plate, driving license, CNIC, and a tracking system. Traffic police took immediate action after receiving a complaint from the ASO Traffic Section in the area.

The driver of the dumper, accused of reckless driving, was arrested for violating traffic regulations. He was also charged for operating outside permitted working hours. During questioning, the driver denied having a CNIC, tracker, or valid license. However, he later admitted to driving the dumper illegally for the past three years.

The police have registered a case against the driver, and further investigations are underway to locate the dumper’s owner. Authorities are determined to impose a heavy fine once the owner is identified. This seizure is part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal and reckless driving in the city.

In a related move, DIG Traffic Police Pir Muhammad Shah announced a ban on unregistered dumpers and water tankers in Karachi. The ban comes after a fatal traffic incident at Razzaqabad. Only vehicles with tracking systems that provide access to the traffic police will be allowed to operate, according to the DIG.

The DIG also mentioned that several dumpers and water tankers already had trackers installed but had not granted access to the police. The new regulations aim to improve road safety and ensure that all vehicles comply with legal requirements.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has expressed deep concern over the violent protests that erupted following an accident involving a dumper truck, in which a man was injured. The angry mobs set fire to dumpers and blocked roads, causing further disruption in the city.

Governor Tessori acknowledged the public’s anger over reckless driving and the dangers posed by heavy traffic, which has led to fatalities in the past. However, he emphasized that resorting to violence and taking the law into one’s own hands could never be justified under any circumstances.

“While it is understandable that citizens are upset, we must uphold the law and remain peaceful. Vigilantism and lawlessness will only exacerbate the situation,” Governor Tessori said. He called on the public to refrain from violent protests and to allow law enforcement to handle such matters.
