Lahore High Court

The Lahore High Court heard a petition against the Kite Flying Act 2025 on Monday. However, the court refused to suspend the law at this early stage. As a result, the new act remains in force for now.

Justice Malik Owais Khalid presided over the hearing. He rejected the request to immediately stop enforcement of the act. The judge said the issue required deeper legal review.

Meanwhile, the court observed that further arguments were needed before granting any interim relief. Therefore, it declined to issue temporary orders. The court emphasized fairness in deciding the sensitive matter.

During the proceedings, the court directed the petitioner to add the Kite Flying Association as a party. The association was included to ensure broad representation. This move aimed to bring all key stakeholders before the court.

Subsequently, the petitioner complied with the court’s order without delay. The Kite Flying Association became a formal respondent. As a result, the scope of the case expanded.

After issuing necessary directions, the court adjourned the hearing until January 16. This pause allows all sides time for detailed preparation. Meanwhile, the law continues to remain active across Punjab.

Finally, the court summoned all parties to present their arguments at the next hearing. The case will be taken up again for further consideration. Observers expect a closely watched legal debate.
