Light Rain and Cloudy Weather Expected in Karachi and Rawalpindi

KARACHI, RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted drizzle and light rain for Karachi, with cloudy skies likely to persist over the next 24 hours.

According to the Met Office, Karachi recorded a minimum temperature of 29.4°C, and daytime temperatures are expected to range between 33°C and 35°C. The humidity level in the city stands at 79%, supported by sea breezes blowing at a speed of 15 km/h.

After days of intense heat, Karachi residents welcomed a change in weather when the city experienced its first rainfall on Friday, which brought some relief from the high temperatures. Since then, Karachi has continued to receive light rain and occasional drizzle, with the most recent showers reported on Sunday in areas like Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, New Karachi, Bahadurabad, Sharea Faisal, Saddar, and Malir.

Meanwhile, the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have also experienced rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Some areas reported significant rainfall, with Saidpur receiving 27 mm, Shamsabad 15 mm, Kacheri 12 mm, and Pirwadhai 4 mm.
