Pakistan and Bangladesh Sign Six Key Agreements
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Advisor in Dhaka to strengthen bilateral ties. During the talks, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and building stronger regional partnerships.

According to the Foreign Ministry, discussions covered a wide range of issues. These included high-level contacts, trade and economic cooperation, people-to-people ties, cultural exchanges, education, and humanitarian concerns. Regional matters such as SAARC revival, the Palestine issue, and the Rohingya crisis were also discussed.

The Pakistani delegation was led by Ishaq Dar, while Bangladesh’s delegation was headed by Foreign Affairs Advisor Mohammad Touhid Hossain. Senior officials from both countries joined the talks, ensuring that all key areas of mutual interest were addressed.

Following the talks, a signing ceremony took place under the supervision of both leaders. Pakistan and Bangladesh signed six important agreements and MoUs. These covered visa exemptions for diplomats, cooperation between foreign service academies, and a media partnership between APP and BSS.

Other agreements included collaboration between strategic studies institutes, the establishment of a trade joint working group, and a cultural exchange programme from 2025 to 2028. These agreements aim to expand cooperation across diplomatic, trade, and cultural fields in the coming years.

Earlier, Ishaq Dar also held important trade meetings with Bangladesh’s Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashir Uddin. Senior officials, including the governor of Bangladesh Bank, heads of key trade bodies, and commerce secretaries, attended. The discussions focused on trade, investment, and long-term economic collaboration between the two nations.
