Pakistan Army Dominates 35th National Games Pakistan in Karachi

The 35th National Games Pakistan concluded in Karachi with the Pakistan Army taking a commanding lead in the medal tally. The closing ceremony was attended by Field Marshal Asim Munir as the chief guest, highlighting the significance of the event. The 35th National Games Pakistan showcased the talent and competitive spirit of athletes from across the country over an intense week of sports.

The games were held from December 6 to December 13, with the final ceremony taking place at the National Bank Stadium. Officials, sports authorities, and distinguished guests gathered to celebrate the achievements of the participating athletes.

Notable political figures such as PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and Sindh Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mehr attended the ceremony. Bilawal Bhutto honored Field Marshal Asim Munir with a traditional Sindhi Ajrak and cap as a gesture of respect.

In terms of performance, the Pakistan Army dominated the medal tally with a total of 353 medals, winning the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. WAPDA secured second place with 232 medals, while NEU finished third with 110 medals. Top-performing athletes were also recognized and awarded for their outstanding efforts.

At the conclusion of the event, the National Games flag was handed over to the Punjab Olympic Association, which will host the next National Games. The success of the 35th National Games Pakistan reflected the country’s strong sporting culture and the dedication of its athletes, promising an even more competitive event next time.
