Malik revealed that after consultation with the prime minister, the levy on petrol has been reduced by 80 rupees, while the levy on diesel has been completely abolished.

He noted that ongoing regional tensions are creating unpredictable economic conditions, making it difficult to maintain stability in fuel pricing.

The minister supported deregulation of the petroleum sector, stating that the government is working to ensure that the transition does not negatively impact the public.

He added that subsidies will only be provided to deserving individuals, making it clear that luxury vehicle owners cannot benefit from government relief, while also supporting the cabinet’s decision to donate six months’ salaries to the national treasury.
