Punjab CTD Arrests 12 Terrorists

LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab has arrested 12 terrorists allegedly connected to India’s intelligence agency, RAW. The suspects were apprehended during intelligence-based operations across Lahore, Faisalabad, and Bahawalpur. The arrests come after a detailed investigation into a Facebook account, “Adil,” linked to RAW.

The terrorists were planning to create fear and incite religious hatred in Punjab. They targeted sensitive locations, including places of worship, and filmed their activities. The footage was then sent to RAW in India via WhatsApp. The CTD spokesperson revealed that these operatives were involved in terror activities aimed at destabilizing the region.

The arrested individuals include Sakdeep Singh, Azmat, Faizan, Nabeel, Abrar, Sarfaraz, and Usman from Lahore. In Faisalabad, Danish was arrested, while Ranjab Hashim, Saqib, and Arif were detained in Bahawalpur. Among the suspects, Sakdeep Singh, a native of Lahore, had previously converted to another religion.

From the terrorists’ possession, authorities recovered 7 IEDs, 2 detonators, 102 feet of fuse wire, explosive materials, weapons, mobile phones, and cash. These materials were seized as part of the investigation, which continues with legal proceedings underway.

The CTD has emphasized its commitment to combating terrorism and maintaining peace in the province. Further investigations are ongoing, with the authorities focused on dismantling the network of operatives involved in these acts of terror.
