Punjab Drone Ban

The Punjab government has extended the ban on flying drones in open spaces across the province under Section 144 for another 30 days, citing security concerns.

According to a notification issued by the Punjab Home Department, the restriction on outdoor drone operations has been formally extended. Authorities said the decision was taken to ensure public safety and address potential security risks.

The government has already imposed strict limitations on the use of drones due to ongoing security assessments. Officials believe that unregulated drone activity could pose threats in sensitive areas.

However, the notification clarifies that limited use of small drones inside wedding halls and marquees is allowed during indoor events. In such cases, event organizers will be fully responsible for ensuring safe operation.

The Home Department further stated that intelligence agencies and law enforcement institutions are exempt from the ban. This exemption allows security forces to continue using drones for operational purposes.

The updated order extends the restriction until May 25, reinforcing the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order across the province.

Authorities have urged citizens and event organizers to strictly comply with the regulations to avoid legal action under Section 144.
