Renowned Actor Shujaat Hashmi Passes Away

Lahore: Renowned Pakistani actor and voice artist Shujaat Hashmi has passed away after a period of illness. He had been receiving medical treatment prior to his death.

Shujaat Hashmi earned a prominent place in Pakistan’s entertainment industry through his versatile acting and voice work. He performed in television dramas as well as films, with notable works including “Khaak Aur Khoon,” “Sohra Te Jowai,” “Dostana,” “Raka,” and “Babul Diyan Galiyan.”

A well-educated artist, Shujaat Hashmi held an MA in English Literature. In recognition of his contributions to the arts, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the Pride of Performance.

His funeral prayer will be held at 9 PM at Jamia Naeemia, Garhi Shahwala, Lahore.
